About

In 2016, a small group of Bellarmine Prep’s Model United Nations Program’s student leaders had the idea of hosting their own conference. At the time, the Pacific Northwest Model UN scene was composed of exclusively high school and college conferences. BellarMUN wanted to create something different, a conference to introduce middle school students to the joy of Model UN. The inaugural BELLARMUN conference was held in April 2017 and remains an integral part of the BellarMUN Program. In addition to supporting middle school students, the conference serves as a major fundraiser for the BellarMUN program as the funds allow all high school students interested to take part in the program. Over the years, BELLARMUN has taught hundreds of middle school students important lessons in diplomacy, public speaking, research, and leadership that lend themselves to Model UN. BELLARMUN 2024 continues the legacy of the conference as a place for middle school students can foster a passion for Model UN.

Our Mission

To expand the reach that Model United Nations has in our region to include middle school students by offering a safe learning environment in which to educate students on principles of leadership, diplomacy, global cooperation, and communication so that they can apply these principles in their daily lives.

  • Secretary-General

Dylan Bianchi is a Senior at Bellarmine Prep and is eager to serve as Secretary-General at BELLARMUN 2024. Dylan started doing Model UN at BELLARMUN 2019 and had a life-changing experience. Dylan fell in love with the collaboration and debate that drives MUN. When not doing MUN, Dylan enjoys working reading, participating in an increasingly odd list of school clubs, and listening to bad music. Dylan is excited to help delegates learn how to navigate through conferences and share an excellent Model UN experience with them!

  • USG of Delegate Affairs

One half of your Delegate Affairs duo, Carter Milliren, is thrilled to serve as a Co-USG of Delegate Affairs for 2024’s iteration of BELLARMUN! This year’s conference will be Carter’s 4th experience participating in BELLARMUN, dating back to 2021’s virtual conference where Carter gained his interest in MUN as a 7th grader. Outside of Model UN, Carter loves to spend time outside, running cross country and track, skiing during the winter, and hiking along with participating in activities like robotics and singing. Carter, the rest of the delegate affairs team, and everyone involved in BELLARMUN 2024 has put so much effort into making this event a possibility and are thrilled to see delegates debate this spring!

  • USG of Specialized Committees

Katie Palmreuter is a junior at Bellarmine Prep and she is bursting with joy to be your USG of Specialized Committees. Katie joined Model UN through BELLARMUN 2021 when she was in middle school, quickly finding a love for it. In her first conference, Katie was a wide eyed, unprepared, and nervous first-time delegate. During her years of Model UN, Katie has enjoyed traveling for conferences, gaining debate skills, and becoming a more knowledgeable global citizen. Along with her Model UN responsibilities for her school program and outside conferences, she can be found reading, on the lacrosse field, at the computer editing her school’s yearbook, and listening to the queen herself, Doctor Taylor Alison Swift. She can not wait to meet you all, and see all the amazing Model United Nations potential at BELLARMUN 2024.

  • Flex Staff

Nicole is a freshman at Bellarmine Prep that is ecstatic to be part of the Flex Staff for BELLARMUN 2024. She can’t wait to meet new people that are just as passionate about MUN as she is. Nicole was introduced to MUN by a friend at the beginning of freshman year, and after her first conference was immediately hooked. Although she was a nervous and anxious speaker at first, she grew more comfortable with raising her placard as time went on, enjoying and observing the enriching debate around her. Aside from Model UN, Nicole participates in various clubs at Bellarmine like Knowledge Bowl and BNAC, and enjoys volunteering as an Athletic Director in-training after school. At home, she enjoys watching movies with her family—especially the Hunger Games—and catching up with friends over FaceTime. Nicole welcomes you to Bellarmine with open arms and hopes all MUN’ers leave this conference with new and exciting experiences!

  • Co-USG of Conference

Brady Pugh is the Co-USG of the conference. He has been flocking with Model UN for three years and is excited to return in involvement with BELLARMUN- this time on the secretariat team as a Junior. Regretting never attending the prestiged conference while he was in middle school, Brady attended every conference as possible his freshmen year. When sophomore year rolled around Brady staffed BELLARMUN in HCC as a AD. Now getting the amazing chance to serve as your CO-USG of conference along with the esteemed Grace Miller, Brady is beyond excited to work behind the scenes to bring the best expierence as possible. When Brady is not scheming with Grace over this amazing conference, he can be found pondering about in Nature or jamming with his assortments of instruments. And Ofcourse, we cannot forget his fascination with fish and other deep sea life which holds a special place in his heart. For the subject of extracurriculars, Brady is involved in student senate and Jazz band. With that being said, Brady Pugh is ecstatic to be the CO-USG of conference for BELLARMUN 2024!

  • Director- General

Maya Krattli is a senior at Bellarmine Preparatory School and is absolutely ecstatic to serve as the Director-General for BELLARMUN 2024! Maya became completely hooked by Model UN-style diplomacy during a BELLARMUN iteration many many years ago, and during her four years of high school conferences has only grown more fascinated by the complexities of foreign relations. Outside of furiously editing preambulatory clauses and lauding semicolons, Maya can be found playing water polo, volunteering at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, or answering trivia questions for Bellarmine’s Knowledge Bowl team. Maya is a firm believer in the Oxford comma and the brilliance of Lin-Manuel Miranda (start singing any musical number and she will join in off-key). During fleeting moments of free time, Maya loves to hike, read (please give her book recommendations!!), and blast Taylor Swift. She is excited to guide delegates through debate and make loads of memories at BELLARMUN 2024!

  • USG of General Assemblies

Currently in his junior year at Bellarmine Preparatory School, Connor is utterly exuberant to be serving as the USG of General Assemblies this BELLARMUN 2024! He began his Model UN voyage as a diffident sixth grader, possessing little to no understanding in the operations of international affairs, global diplomacy, or any extent of professionalism. Although unwillingly being introduced to MUN way back when, it wasn’t long until Connor truly fell in love with the environment of debate and discourse the very moment he raised his placard and took part in a one-of-a-kind community, although he has almost lost count of how many conferences he has participated in. Beyond his MUN experiences, of which he credits many of his fulfilling highschool memories to, you can find Connor finishing his favorite Netflix shows, working as a CAD designer for his school’s robotics team, listening to absurdly long Spotify playlists, or spending time with his rambunctious cat named Squid. Above all, Connor wishes a phenomenal experience to all delegates and is truly ecstatic to help make BELLARMUN 2024 possible. He promises that this BELLARMUN will be filled with BELLAR-FUN!

  • USG of Delagate Affairs

Jill Callet, is half of the amazing Delegate Affairs team. Since starting MUN during her sophomore year, she has fallen more and more in love with MUN. She is buzzing to be serving as your USG of Delegate Affairs team. From accidentally choosing a crisis for her first conference to now staffing PACMUN 2023, she is ecstatic. From a twelve page directive to dancing and karaoke during midnight crisis, MUN has been the best journey. Outside of MUN, Jill can be found drinking boba, curled up with a book, or planning her next vacation. If asked, she will talk for days about her travel adventures (read mishaps) and her crippling reliance (and love-hate relationship) with TripAdvisor. Jill can’t wait for conference weekend and is ecstatic to watch delegates grow and collaborate as the sessions and debate progresses. She also hopes that delegates will reach the end of this bio and comes to talk to her about her love for Starbucks tea hacks.

  • Co-USG of Conference

Grace is a sophomore and is stoked to be serving as the Co-USG of conference for BELLARMUN 2024! Grace attended her first MUN Conference at BELLARMUN during her 8th grade year and immediately fell in love with the invigorating debate and in-depth discussions that are found within MUN. Her positive experience with BELLARMUN has fueled her to try to facilitate that same positive environment for all members of the conference. Outside of MUN, Grace can be found playing softball, going to a concert, playing the piano, or impulsively spending her entire paycheck at the McDonalds down the hill from Bellarmine. Grace is honored to be able to hold the title of Co-USG of conference alongside the wickedly talented and exceptionally wonderful Brady Pugh. Grace is so excited for this iteration of BELLARMUN and could not be more thrilled to see what is in store for this fantastic conference.
