COMMITTEES

Dearest Delegates, Parents, and Advisors,

Welcome to BELLARMUN 2024!

My name is Christopher Silverthorn and I am the Chief of Staff for BELARMUN 2024! It is my utmost honor to present this year's exciting committee lineup. With the resurgence of our crisis committee, we have a record 5 amazing committees—all brought together by a passionate and dedicated staff team. I can wholeheartedly testify to the quality experience that this iteration of BELLARMUN will bring to each and every delegate.

Our introductory committee is the fascinating United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees—debating a wide range of topics. From education to the reintegration of refugees, this committee is a starting point for all delegates. Up next, the out-of-this-world UN Office on Outer Space Affairs, our intermediate committee. Back on Earth, in our other intermediate committee delegates will represent people in the International Olympic Committee, debating the rules of the Olympics around age requirements and cheating. And rounding out our splendid committees are our Advanced committees. On the general assembly side we will have the Regional African Union that aims to tackle complex issues of Piracy and Industrialization in Africa. And for our renowned crisis committee, the Future Crisis Committee that asks questions about a future society living on the moon. I hope every delegate can find something for them in this iteration's diverse range of committee options, and I cannot wait for the two wonderful days we will spend together this spring!

Bests,

Christopher Silverthorn

Chief of Staff.

Introductory

This year we are offering two introductory committee’s: The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). Delegates in these agency’s can expect to debate pertinent and engaging global issues. Delegates will gain fundamental Model United Nations skills such as public speaking, research, diplomacy and writing. As introductory committee’s, they will each give a classic United Nations simulation and, as such, are best suited for delegates who have attended one or fewer conferences.

Intermediate

This year, BELLARMUN will offer The African Union (AU) and The International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the intermediate committees. Delegates in these organization can expect to debate unique and compelling topics based on the distinctive standings of the committee. Delegates will learn essential Model United Nations skills while debating intricate and multi-faceted issues. As a result, delegates who apply for this committee are advised to have prior MUN experience and be prepared to take part in a fast-moving debate.

Advanced

BELLARMUN 2024 offers one exciting advanced committee: The Future Crisis Committee (FCC). With unique Rules of Procedure and a thrilling topic this committee is perfect for delegates with a stronger debate background. FCC will dive headfirst into the fast-paced world of deliverable sending and crisis arcs, so delegates are encouraged to research thoroughly beforehand and arrive on day one bearing a bright smile, plenty of enthusiasm, and loads of creativity!
