Committee Introduction

In 1894 the first Olympic Congress was formed in order to revive the Olympics games, and alongside it came the creation of the International Olympic Committee. The IOC was tasked with supreme authority over the Olympic Movement which aimed to promote a more educated and peaceful world. Since its creation, the IOC has added 105 active representatives that help shape the future of the Olympic Games and how the Olympic Movement is spread worldwide. Join the IOC at BELLARMUN 2024 to navigate cheating in the games and the age limits on athletes. In the IOC delegates will assume an individual person in a completely unique committee that mixes regular MUN committees with crisis committees in a way that is accessible and engaging to all.

Topic A:

Raising the Age Limits for the Olympics

Preventing Cheating in the Olympics

  • Director

Kalia Comer is a Senior at Bellarmine Prep this year and is absolutely ecstatic about being the Director for the IOC! Kalia started their Model UN journey in their Freshman year and have loved it ever since. Kalia fell into the wonderful world of crisis committees quickly into freshman year, allowing for them to fully immerse themself into the fast-paced nature and improvisational shenanigans of specialized committees. Aside from MUN, Kalia does a lot of writing, voice acting, musical theater, and binge watching the occasional TV show! Don’t be afraid to come up and say hello! Kalia can’t wait to meet everyone and have fun in the IOC!!

  • Chair

Natalie Neal is a Junior at Bellarmine Prep, excitedly filling the role as Chair of IOC! As a freshman, she was intimidated by MUN, but built up the confidence to join sophomore year. Now, she has attended multiple conferences, one even having been outside of the country. Then, beginning her junior year, she fell in love with the fast-paced debate and hilarious antics of crisis committees. Outside of MUN, Natalie enjoys listening to music and podcasts, doing arts and crafts of all sorts, and doing her nightly 8 step skincare routine. Natalie looks forward to meeting all the amazing delegates and guiding them through rigorous and fun debate!

  • Assistant Director

Isa Quesada is a Freshman at Bellarmine. She got her start at MUN at a BELLARMUN conference in 7th grade and fell in love with debate! Since then, she’s attended many other conferences, including one in Seattle, and has dove right into MUN at Bellarmine. Isa is so excited to serve as your assistant director this year and, hopefully, spark your interest in specialized committees and overall MUN. Other than Model UN, she loves theater, cheerleading, her family and friends, Taylor Swift, and finding gluten free and dairy free recipes to try. She is so excited to be on staff and can’t wait to start debate!
